I have a legacy system that uses a HP jamaica enclosure (A3312A)
I need to purchase (refurbished) a hot swap disk of 9 GB operating in SE or LVD for that enclosure.
Do you know what part numbers exists ?
Thanks in advance

Re: Hot-Plugable disk for Jamaica Enclosure
A3649-69002
A5238-69001
A5285-69002
These are all 9gig FWD
There is this 4 gig SE
A3646-69003
I thought LVD came out later but I'm not sure on that. I know SE and FWD can not be on the same bus.

Re: Hot-Plugable disk for Jamaica Enclosure
Looking at Partsurfer,
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=A3312A
would appear to suggest that there are no 9GB SE or LVD drives, only Differential.
Cheers,
Rob

SolutionAccording to a Service Note, since Seagate doesn't make differential drives anymore they use an SE to Differential "DIFF" module inside of the carrier. You'll have to check which drive is inside of the carrier as these will show up as SE with ioscan or diskinfo. There are two different "DIFF" modules used.
A3649A Replaced by A5238A
A3649-69002 HP09 ST19171W 9Gb HH
A5238A A5238-69001 HP15 ST39173WC ST39175LC DGHS09Y 9Gb LP
A5285A A5285-69001 HP07 ST39236LC ST39175LC 9Gb LP
YMMV...
