msa1000 to DL585 serial port

Until a few weeks ago I had a MSA1000 and an ES45 in the same rack. To access MSA1000 CLI from Tru64 terminal I connected the MSA1000 serial cable to the serial port of the ES45 and I used "tip" to communicate with MSA1000.

Now I replaced the ES45 with a new DL585G2 and I connected the MSA1000 serial cable to the serial port of the DL585 (which runs SLES10).

Unfortunately I don't succeed anymore in connecting to the MSA1000.
Since "tip" command is not available, I tried both kermit and minicom but they don't work and hung when accessing /dev/ttyS0 .

The server has only one serial port, so I'm quite sure the device name is the right one.

Is it possible that the serial port must be enabled by RBSU (bios)? Unfortunately the server is up and running thus I have no way to check it.

Can you help me?
Thanks from Italy,
Emanuele
