Proliant DL 385 G5 + MSA-20

Hallo, I've bought a new Proliant DL385G5 with only PCI-e expansion slots and need to connect my MSA-20 disk array, wich was attached to a smart array 6402 PCI-X raid controller on the old server. Wich controller do I have to buy? It seems HP does not have a PCI-e U320 SCSI raid controller. I have found an LSI MegaRAID SCSI RAID Adapter 320-2E, is this right for me? thanks a lot, Alessandro Dalla Riva - BFT SpA Italy

Hi, I can't vouch for the full compatability but HP do use a badged card with the LSI chipset, however it probably won't let you use the ACU for configuration or management although it should be able to run the shelf.

Hi,

You can replace PCI-E riser card with Mixed Riser Cage Option Kit (PCI-E/PCI-X) P/N:410570-B21 and then put SA6402 in DL385
