Re: RAID 5 on HP ProLiant 350
what type of RAID level do you use? If you are using RAID 1 or 5 a single failed disks should not bring the whole array down. If you are using RAID 0 you might better search for a valid backup.
If you're not using RAID 0 it should be sufficient to replace the failed disk with a new one. The controller will began with the rebuild short after inserting the disk.
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: RAID 5 on HP ProLiant 350
Raid is down, does that mean RAID is failed?
If raid is not failed and only degraded, which would be the case if RAID 5 is configured then the array will recreate itself after drive replacement.
The raid is failed due to failure of one hard drive so I'm assuming that RAID 0 was configured.
Now The 2nd slot hdd needs to be replaced then the complete array needs to be rebuild as a new one.
The Array Configuration Utility has wizard for this purpose.
Try it! It is self explainary
Just use all the available space.
Cheers!!
PS: Hope that would help but
If your query is not answered then Please give more information, such as model of server, Name of RAID Controller, Type of RAID configured, How many logical drive you want to have etc.

Re: RAID 5 on HP ProLiant 350
Go ahead and Replace the 2nd slot Hard Drive, then check the RAID status.
