raid controller - battery life/recharge method
We have a POST message on a 5302 controller saying 'Array controller battery charge low'. I understand this means the battery is below 90 percent charge. Documentation states that if it does not charge up within 36 hours replace it.
Should I follow this advice?
Should I replace in any case?
How does the battery recharge work? Is the battery charge constantly monitored by controller? Does it only charge when it 'sees' a problem during the post check? The only drain we put on the battery is during a reboot - which may sometimes require a full power off. So its literally seconds. Should this cause a drain of some 10 percent?
Help please....
Thanks
