Unable to find HP command view
Hi
We have an HP EVA 8100 and since some days ago we are not able to discover the storage system by using command view.
EVA is working and providing service, however the command view is unable to find the EVA. We have tried to find the storage system by using two different command view servers (both of them worked find since some days ago).
We have already reboot both command view servers, we have also reinstalled the command view software in a new server, we have check the switch zoning... nothing works.
We don't want to reboot the EVA (it is in production) unless it is essential to do it...
So we have think about using a newest command view software to check if that works.
I need to find a command view download link to get the HPE command view 10.x I just can find patches from 10.3 or similar, but I'm unable to find the original command view software.
Is there any way to get it?
Thanks!

Re: Unable to find HP command view
Hi,
Command View EVA is a Licensed Product, so it is no Public Download there.
Only Patches are Public.
Try this:
https://h20392.www2.hpe.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=SWSDED
It needs that you have linked your Command View Product with your Passport Account.
or use
https://h20575.www2.hpe.com/tsusbportal/index.do
After you enter your SAID Maintenance Contract Number (witch should include the CV Product), you can also download CV.
But I don't think, this solve your problem.
Do you see the HSVxxx Controller in the Device Manager?

https://h20392.www2.hpe.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=P6000_CV10.3
Hope this helps!

Re: Unable to find HP command view
Hi,
Thanks for the answers... Actually I'm part of an IT support service that provides hardware to several customers. Our customer has an old EVA 8100 with that issue and they have ask us for some help.
We have physicaly check the EVA as well as the two servers that act as command view appliance and they seem to be OK. No alerts are shown. The FC switches are also OK and no alerts are found.
Initially we have ask our customers to do the following:
- Reboot the command view service
- Reboot the command view server
- Check the Zoning on the fiber channel switches
- Reinstall the command view software in a new server (wich must be inside the zoning of the EVA controllers)
- Try to upgrade the Command view software to a new version
All of the above was previously done except the last point, they told us that they have just one version of Command view (I requested the version number, and I'm waiting for their answer). So meanwhile I was trying to obtain the latest command view version to send it to them. However after reading your answers I realized that this is not possible.
I have also asked them to check if they can see the HSV controllers on the windows device manager. If they don't see it then it could be due to a problem with the HBA firmware, maybe an update has affected it.
Any other suggestions will be apreciated.
Thanks

Use the link I gave you.
The software is fully functional for 60 days, then you need to apply a license.
Check in CV if you see the EVA in "unmanaged arrays" section.
What firmware is running on that EVA?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Unable to find HP command view
Hi Torsten
I'm downloading it right now and I will test it with the customer.
I have asked the customer for the firmware version too and I will post you their answer.
Thanks again
