Error says, "Scanner ADF is jammed" but there is no apparent jam.

this is a Laser Jet Pro 400 MFP 425  - I have done all the suggested cleaning and inspection and there is no foreign objects in the feeder.   It pulls first page through then as it starts on second page it presents the error and stops half way through.   The paper is undamaged and I see nothing to cause a paper jam.
