O/S upgrade

Hi everyone,

I am considering upgrade our HP-UX servers that are all running version B.11.00 64-bit (for N-Class) and 32-bit (for L-Class, K-Class and E45). I would like to have some advice from those who has experience in this so that I can start a feasibility study in a right way. Let me know what is the possible version to upgrade to. Please outline areas that I must focus on such as hardware, software and applications etc. Thanks in advance.

The K-class servers will probably need to have their FIRMWARE upgrade first, HAVE HP DO THIS!

I think the E45 is limited to 32bit only.

The N's and L's won't have any issues.


Step's:

INSTALL the latest IGNITE on your existing servers!

Do TWO make_tape_recovery's of each server! - yes back up the current environment incase you need to go back!

Do TWO full system backups!!! - verify the backups!!!

Get the latest install media - MARCH 2002
