bdf /home hangs

Hi Gurus,

bdf against /home hangs when  works fine with all the other filesystems. Couldn't have any clue about this issue.

Please advise if anyone has come across similar issue.

Thanks...

Re: bdf /home hangs

There are several possibilities:

1) The /home filesystem is corrupted.

2) The disk that has /home is bad and not responding

3) If /home is an NFS or AUTOFS file system then there could be issues with the NFS/Autofs sever

Check your /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file and see if there are any errors there.

Re: bdf /home hangs

Thanks for your quick reply.

I cannot find any problem in /home. I can read/write properly. Also the disk is root disk and has no fault.
Since this is a local filesystem NFS/AutoFS is not a concern.

syslog is showing nothing about it :-(

Because you can cd to /home and list and create files?

What does this show for /home?

mount | grep /home

For NFS problems, if bdf /home hangs, then you can't do anything in /home.
