DL380 G7 SSD Performance Issues

I have installed (1) 636593-B21 HP 100GB 3G SATA MLC SFF (2.5-inch) Enterprise Mainstream 3yr Warranty Solid State Drive in a DL380 G7 that has 12 cores and 64GB of RAM. I am not seeing the performance boost I would expect with the use of SSD. The numbers are comparable to the performance that I generally see on my 300GB 10K 6G DP SAS HDD (507127-B21). Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have any recommendations for increasing the performance threshold on these drives?

Re: DL380 G7 SSD Performance Issues

Hi

I'm guessing that you have a FBWC or A BBWC installed in the server and that would explain the lack of difference between the two harddrives. As long as the Cache is not filled up and don't have to wait for the cache to empty to the Harddrive. There aren't much difference between a SAS and a SSD

Tests i've made on a bl460c g6 with a 512MB BBWC in crystaldiskmark 2.2 shows that if i use 0 - 500MB Testdata the results are about the same for a mechanic disk as a SSD but if you increase the test data to 1 GB the SSD is way higher. Especially in Random read\writes.
