Need to replace a Smart Array P800 Controller

Hello, I have a failing P800 Controller in a Proliant DL320s G1 that I want to swap with a replacement. I have done some reading that replacing the controller shouldn't be an issue and that the array information is stored on the drives. I am just looking from confirmation that if I replace the controller with another P800, that I shouldn't lose any data just by swapping the controller.

Thanks,

Exactly. The controller will ick up the configuration from the disks. Make sure you have at least the same firmware on the new controller.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
