Blinking Red External health LED on ML370 G5?
Does anyone know what it means if an ML370 G5's External System Health LED is blinking red?
We were surprised to find the server off this morning. On the front panel, the External system health LED was blinking red. We couldn't find documentation of what this meant, and support said they didn't know either.
Usually the External system health LED indicates power supply issues. We have redundant power supplies, both connected to a UPS shared with other servers. None of the other servers went down, so the UPS output was probably fine, and I doubt both power supplies failed simultaneously.
The logs -- both HP Integrated System Management and Windows event logs -- show nothing.
When we powered it back on, other than having to hold in the power button for a couple seconds, everything worked and continues to work normally.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Blinking Red External health LED on ML370 G5?
One power supply (SMPS) just failed, so now we're pretty sure it's a power supply issue. Yes, both are connected.
What's wrong with rev. 03M?
The fact that the server crashed last weekend indicates both power supplies must have failed. HP support suggested a problem with the power supply backplane, which they say is common to both power supplies. Does anyone know anything about that?
Thanks again.
