RX7640 Adding Memory to Existing Configuration
Hi,
I have been searching for configuration information for adding 4Gb memory DIMMs in an RX7640 which currently has 8Gb DIMMS as follows:

So i have to intsall the memory as follows?
4GB Modules
side0 (0A, 0B,0C,0D), side1 (0A, 0B,0C,0D), side0 (1A, 1B,1C,1D)
2GB Modules
side1 (1A, 1B,1C,1D), side0 (2A, 2B,2C,2D), side1 (2A, 2B,2C,2D)

Hi Manoj,
Memory Loading rules to be followed:
1) Memory shold be installed in Pairs
2) Larger memory modules first then smaller memory modules
3) The memory loading order would be 0A,0B then 1A, 1B .......7A,7B

Hi Joe,
I would recommend to even read the Memory Loading Rules and Performance Tuning Guidelines in the Configuration chapter of the QuickSpecs for this system, as it has more details and examples.
E.g., as you have both cells in a single partition, you should load memory equally across the cell boards for best performance.
