RILOE II In A Proliant 5500 Xeon

I know that the 5500 Xeon is not listed in the RILOE II matrix, but has anyone ever tried it? Unofficially and/or unsupported, will it work? I've got plenty of spare RILOEs that I could put in it, but I'd rather use a RILOE II.
