Managing the local CLI remotely?

Is it possible to create a script / application to use iLo2 to manage the CLI of linux servers which have forgone a gui? (without having to use the existing java console)

I just need to send keyboard commands as though I were on the local system, and to receive the output.

Thanks,

Re: Managing the local CLI remotely?

You can SSH into iLO2 and rn the "textcons" command. Textcons will give you a CLI console into the host. The host must not be in any graphics mode. In the past I've had to disable framebuffer and/or use vga=normal on the kernel append line to get textcons to function properly
