Problem on LO100 (shared port of a DL180 G6) connecting to a Cisco switch via Gbic module

Hi folks, I just want to have a firm answer to this.

 

Recently we have used a Gbic module to connect our Cisco switch in hope to get a better performance. But it seems like if we power off the server, we lose the LO100 connection. Is that because LO100 shared port only supports 100Mps LAN and won't be detected by Gbic? It is a remote server, so I can't really get my hands on it for some simply test.

I have tested it. The LO100i port only supports 10mbps.
