how can i keep live session continuosly from a local host using RDP

hi all
am accessing my dedicated server using RDP.
after opening the dedicated machine using RDP, opening my applications in that server.after that instead of logoff i just closed the connection.

when i open default.rdp from my documents folder, i can see all the opened application in dedicated server.

but if repeat the above step after 2 minutes rdp opening the new session to the dedicated machine.

how can i keep live session continuosly from a local host???

Re: how can i keep live session continuosly from a local host using RDP

did you verify on the server that 2 RDP sessions are active ?
(start - programs - administrative tools - terminal services manager)
or is the server configured that disconnected sessions are logged out within those 2 minutes?
(start - programs - administrative tools - terminal services configuration)
then after these 2 minutes only one session should be active.

Re: how can i keep live session continuosly from a local host using RDP

dear friend
i made the settings...
now it is working fine...
i kept "end a disconnected session" option as "never" in terminal server configuration....
but i got some other doubt...let me to describe in detail...

i connected with dedicated server from "machineA" and opened my applications...after that instead of logoff i disconnected that session...this case everything is working fine...

when i connected dedicated machine from "MAchineB" same session is opening with my opened applications instaed of new session...

y instaed of new session, session from MAchineA is coming???can u help me for this???

Re: how can i keep live session continuosly from a local host using RDP

sessions on the RDP destination are established on a "user" base.

So if you
- setup an rdp-session with account-A from system-1.
- next connect with account-A from system-2 .
then the session from system-1 is "taken over" (the connection from system-1 is broken).
if you want separate sessions you must use a different username to login at each session!
