a problem when install jdk15 in hp unix ia64

I've downloaded JDK15_15012_ia.depot from hp.com and put it in /webserver.
I've checked the MD5 and it's ok.
Then execute
#swinstall -s /webserver/JDK15_15012_ia.depot

It's suspended. check the log:

Yes, gzip is not being accessed as required by swinstall on ur hp-box

provide following:

what /usr/contrib/bin/gzip
ls -l /usr/contrib/bin/gzip
swlist |grep -i gzip

Try to create a temp file lets say

#cp /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log /tmp/test.log
#gzip /tmp/test.log
#ll /tmp/test.log.gz
#gunzip /tmp/test.log.gz

That would be my first suspect, a corrupt depot.

Otherwise as Deepak says, is /usr/contrib/bin/gzip present and working?

You didn't change the default for -x compress_cmd or -x uncompress_cmd?

do following before you try :

1. Download the depot file from itrc.hp.com
2. verify checksum
3. /sbin/init.d/swagentd -r
this will recycle swagent..
4. run swinstall

provide following:

swlist |grep -i gzip
