Access Controls on Samba Shares

Hi Champs,

I have one samba share /tools on my server "Server1" - (HP ux 11.11)

What I want is a perticular directory under /tools/support/Sec/Secret
to be accessed by only 5 perticular samba users (users on Windows client)
no body esle should be able to access it, permission on rest of the "/tools" share shall remain as it is

Could any body please tell me how would I do it?

Thanks in Advance

Re: Access Controls on Samba Shares

Shalom Rajeev,

You can do this totally within the smb.conf file.

If you look at this file you'll see an example of limited access already present. Merely uncomment the code and change the user list.

You do not mention if your integration is with windows or anything like that, which substantially clouds the solution path.

Hi SEP,

Thanks for ur response!

All the samba users which are accessing this share are on Windows machine, I could not get the example of limited access. Would you please paste that over here.
