Any HP-UX system needs two back ups.
1) Ignite backup of the OS, vg00
2) Some other back up of relevant data.
Ignite will allow you to quickly recover the OS from bad patches, or mistakes without harming the data. It is essential.
For HPVM, I would go for make_net_recovery which requires an NFS share to write the backp to.
Any solution you choose for the data files can fulfill item 2.

u have to implement ignite backup for vg00 and rest u have to take backup through some other backup tools
