I came across here seeking your idea and expertise that we currently banging up solution of unexpected issue. Most of our C8000 machine with Catia V5 application hangup while working it usually froze, the mouse and keyboard will not response so we just telnet the station to kill those processes and figure out that the X reaches to 100% of running and this seems to be causes of the issue. HP support already diagnose and they tell us that there is no problem with the hardware. Does anyone know here on how this resolved? Is there a video patches or CATIA patches that needs to updates?
Appreciate your help.
thanks

Re: C8000 hangup usually when running CATIA V5
I would try a patch assessment session on ITRC first.
Try if you can get this link:
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/addUpdateSystemsPage.do?BC=main|pdb|sbs|
if not, go to
http://www.itrc.com -> patch database
-> individual patches
-> find patches for my HP-UX system
-> upload new system information:
Download the script, run it and upload the result.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: C8000 hangup usually when running CATIA V5
have you already checked this site:
http://h20331.www2.hp.com/hpsub/cache/285667-0-0-225-121.html
The most critical is the 'ld and linker tools cumulative patch' - be sure you use the latest.
Else I would check the kernel parameters especially 'maxssiz' and 'maxssiz_64'.
We're running c8000 and catia v5 r16 without problems, so if it's not the patches please give me your kernel listing.

Re: C8000 hangup usually when running CATIA V5
'Get the Kernel Parameters value for CATIA'
from the site I gave to you.
Else - what hardware configuration do you have?

http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/addUpdateSystemsPage.do?BC=main|pdb|sbs|
and press first "Submit", then the "Search" button next to your server name.
Hope this helps!

The result will include the latest GOLDQPK - this will include the latest linker patch too.
Hope this helps!

Re: C8000 hangup usually when running CATIA V5
seems like some of your kernel parameters are much too low!
Check the suggestions here:
http://h20331.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/cache/285140-0-0-225-121.html
Also I would increase all maxsize parameters.
Use 'kmtune' to get a list like mine, then you can use 'sam' to change the parameters - your ws will reboot after that!
HTH
