Data Parity Error Detected during address or write data phase

We have intalled RedHat Linux 7.3 on ML 350 machine. It gives error messages while booting. Disk read/writes are extremely slow.

What do these errors mean?

Uhhuh. NMI received. Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
You probably have a hardware problem with your RAM chips

and
scsi0: PCI error Interrupt at seqaddr = 0x44
scsi0: Data Parity Error Detected during address or write data phase
scsi1: PCI error Interrupt at seqaddr = 0x44
scsi1: Data Parity Error Detected during address or write data phase
HP CISS Driver (v 2.4.48-12)

I think you have a disk on the edge. I'd get a backup of data and then check the hardware. It might also be generatted by damaged cabling or a flakey SCSI card.

Re: Data Parity Error Detected during address or write data phase

Hello,

Did you use HP drivers to install RH7.3 ? If no, I guess cciss driver is the pb.

Go to :
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/86_2588.html

=> Software - Driver Diskettes
=> Driver Diskette image for...Smart Array 5i...

Follow the procedure to create the image disk. Boot your install CD, and at the first prompt type "linux dd"

Good luck.
