DCE problems after IP change

DCE is the authentication mechanism used for all logins except superuser. After changing the IP address of that server nobody is able to login to the ox. Does anybody what could be the cause of this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: DCE problems after IP change

Hi,

How did you change the ip (set_parms script) ?

open a root session.
# nslookup ip-address
# nslookup name-of-box

Is the output the same?

Re: DCE problems after IP change

I not sure how IP was changed? I will have to find out and get back to you. The thread you refer to says that if changing IP on a DCE client do the following:

- remove DCE software on the client
- put new IP on the DCE client
- finally install DCE client software

Is my understanding correct? If so I will try it out and see if it works.

Re: DCE problems after IP change

Are you able to login from console?

if you are sure nothing is chanaged on the server, then there amy be a probabale ip conflict. You may be getting redirected to a different box.
