DL 360 Server(1st Generation) and Red Hat EL 4

Hello,

I have 1st generation DL 360 server on which I have installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.
The system worked alright before I updated to latest Red Hat Linux Packages from red hat site.
This created a new latest kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3.EL. But the system did not boot from this kernel.
Lucky enough the old kernel (2.6.9-5.EL)was still present for me to boot my system.
I suppose its the problem with the drivers??
I hope someone would have encontered this problem......please let me know how i can fix this and get the new kernel all set!!

Thank you,
Abhishek Joshi.

Hi again,

At the boot following messages appear when system starts to boot:

Uncompressing Linux....Ok,booting the kernel
ACPI- Aperture size is too small
ACPI- Aperture size is too small

It comes to this point and stops booting somehow...

Thanks,

Re: DL 360 Server(1st Generation) and Red Hat EL 4

It seems a problem with ACPI parameter or kernel compile.
I don't know the DL360G1.
I don't want to tell wrong, but i think to check into option of kernel recompiling parameters.
