DVD to USB Key

Hi,

I need to undertand the following.

With my SAID I downloaded from HPE the two last available ISO's of HPUX 11.31:

1) HP_UX_11i_v3_BOE_Core_1_2_BA927-10039.iso      (8 Gb)

2) HP_UX_11i_v3_BOE_Core_2_2_BA927-10040.iso     (5 Gb)

I have not available DVD writeable with that size.

How to use that ISO's to install the OS on a scratch "ia64 hp server rx2660" server?

Is possible to transfer the two ISO's to an USB key and the start the installaton from the USB port that there is on the frontal face of the rx2660?

Thank you in advance

Re: DVD to USB Key

USB drives are not supported by HP-UX.

You can mount an ISO image as a pseudo DVD drive.

Hope this helps!

Re: DVD to USB Key

Hi,

the USB key is supported; see the following:

http://h20565.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=4077173&docId=emr_na-c01976113&docLocale=en_US

The only problem is HOW move the ISO contents to USB Key

Thank you

Re: DVD to USB Key

This does NOT mean an USB stick is supported by HP-UX ...

BTW, they create a HFS filesystem on the stick, hence it can be used.

Better buy a DVD DL media (8.5GB) and burn the ISO ...

If you have a second system, you can use ignite to boot from and install your ISO ...

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
