Hi Chad:
See the manpages for 'chmod'. The "S" is the setuid and setgid bits on without execute permission. The "T" is the sticky-bit on without execute permission.
# touch /tmp/me
# chmod 666 /tmp/me
# chmod u+s /tmp/me
# chmod g+s /tmp/me
# chmod a+t /tmp/me
# ls -l /tmp/me
-rwSrwSrwT 1 root sys 4 May 21 15:46 /tmp/me
