HC 380 Connectivity to External SAN

Hello experts!

Requesting views on whether an existing HC 380 can be integrated to an external SAN/NAS. Having gone through Installation & User Guides for HC 380, it doesn't appear possible at the appliance level. However, would anything stop integration of a NAS/ SAN at VMware level e.g. if present LUNs from a storage via iSCSI or NFS and create datastores?

I'm aware the HC 380 reached EOA last year.

Appreciate your thoughts.
