How to detect memory leaks on RHEL releases (RHEL4, RHEL5)
I work in a system testing team and we work on complete black box testing with no access to the code or programs.
While running traffic on the system we would like to observer if any of the process are leaking memory and if there are an leaks in the memory of the system at a high level.
Are there an tools that can be used on RHEL4, RHEL5 systems.
Any inputs in this direction is very helpful to us.
Thank you in anticipation.
Kind Regards,
Satya Prasad

Re: How to detect memory leaks on RHEL releases (RHEL4, RHEL5)
on RH5 you have the use of systemtap, a solaris dtrace like tool - http://sourceware.org/systemtap/
note however that none of these tools are easy, the are _great_ tools. but you need to take time to learn them.
