HPUX - Default Filesystem Type

Hi,

Anyone can correct me that, in HPUX the default filesystem type is JFS (Vxfs)?

Thanks & Regards

Re: HPUX - Default Filesystem Type

Hi Swetha:

Yes, VxFS (JFS) is indeed the default filesystem type. HFS is deprecated.

You can specify this is '/etc/default/fs'.

Re: HPUX - Default Filesystem Type

Do a man on "newfs" and you will see that it ultimately depends on what is specified in /etc/default/fs.

JRF is absolutely correct unless you are talking HPUX 10.20. You did not say which version.

Re: HPUX - Default Filesystem Type

Dear Swetha

default file system for /stand is hfs
and other is jfs (vxfs)
jfs is mainly two types
one is base jfs
second one is online jfs
