Should be no impact at all except faster I/O.

There have been some issues with certain versions of Oracle on cooked file systems. Possible data corruption. Check metalink in that case.

It is supported but, in HP-UX 11.11, you need to have patch PHKL_25506 applied (see Metalink Note 43507.1)

The question really was will async_io have an adverse impact on non-raw storage. I guess common sense dictates it should not as you can't ever have the OS on raw storage - can we.

Based on my experience, Oracle RDBMS will ignore asyncio on vxfs filesystems.
