Installing RHEL 4 on ML 350

Hi,
Iam trying to install RHEL on ML 350, After it boots from linux cd and configuring language settings it stops showing driver not found. Looks it fails to detect the smart array controller. I have tryed drivers given on hp site but nothing works.
Also none of the HP smart start cd's have the option of linux OS.

Please help me in this issue.

Thanks

Re: Installing RHEL 4 on ML 350

You don't mention which generation ML350 this is, but HP suggest that the G5 needs RH4 update 2 (for dual processors) update 4 (for quad processors) and the G6 needs update 7. Please check this link:

Hope that helps

Thank you for the reply. Its ML 350 G6. Does it support oracle Enterprise Linux 4 update 5 ?

Did you mean Redhat Enterprise 4? If so, HP suggests that the G6 needs update 7 as an absolute minimum. You will need to download an updated install DVD.

Re: Installing RHEL 4 on ML 350

Sorry, re-read your post. Nope, OEL4 isn't supported at all on the G6.

Hope that helps.

Hi,
RHEL4 is not supported with ML350, u can check RHEL4 update 4 or use RHEL5 which can solve ur issue.
