Internal hard disk utilization more than 90%
We are running a java application on HP rx8640.
We see that cpu and memory are utilised less than 20%, where as disk utilization on average is more than 95% because of which we are not getting the required TPS. The disk is internal hard disk and has /root partition. We tried the same on rx6600. There too we saw disk utilization to be more than 90% where as cpu and memory are less than 30%. Any guidance will be of great help. we are using HP-UX 11.31.
here is sar output.

c4t6d0 98.49 0.50 5 163 848 0.00 7.01
disk9 98.49 0.50 5 163 848 0.00 7.01

disk9 98.50 0.50 5 164 795 0.00 6.86
Thanks,
Senthil.

Re: Internal hard disk utilization more than 90%
With the help of vgdisplay you can see the Created Volume Group and the defined spce for those.
Use #bdf to know more detail about your file system used and total sapce defined.
if you explain what command o/P is above.. It will more easy to understand.

Re: Internal hard disk utilization more than 90%
Data is in separate machine. But that server's resources are also underutilized. CPU/mem/disk below 30%
Thanks,
Senthil
