Linux Install Problem
Later we used a Debian Sarge and it found the HD and installed it but when it reboots didnтАЩt find the boot sector.

Next monday (20th) Fedora Core 5 will be released. Maybe it's worth waiting one weekend with the installation. I don't know yet wheter SATA is fully supported on this release.

You cannot use RHEL4 drivers with Fedora, but you can use CentOS4 if you don't want to pay for RHEL.

This means that you cannot rebuild the kernel as the system refuses to boot as it cannot relink the missing source code for the driver.
You should contact HP-UX support and they will supply you a binary driver dik that will be version specific. Once you have this disk(s) build the system using "linux dd" then at the "Congratulations" screen swtch to a shell window by pressing Ctrl-F2.
Mount the disk as directed and run the fix script. Then hit Alt-F7 to return to the graphical installer and complete the installation.
