Linux on zt1150

I have dual booted my HP zt1150 with XP and Mandrake 9.0. Has anyone had any luck in getting teh sound to work under linux and if so what did you do. I have tried sndconfig with no joy. Appreciate any help

Thanks

Re: Linux on zt1150

Believe it or not, but there is an ACPI problem that prevents the sound from working. You will have to patch the ACPI source, see http://homepages.which.net/~adrian.west/pavillion_subpages/acpi_patch.html and recompile the kernel.
A quick search http://us-support3.external.hp.com/emse/bin/doc.pl/sid=d1994cbd18193cf153?todo=search&searchcategory=ALL&rn=25&presort=rank&searchtext=ACPI+sound&searchcriteria=allwords&searchtype=SEARCH_FORUMS&x=46&y=10 revealed a number of discussions on this.

Damn, hit the send button before I was done:(

I am running the 2.5.5x kernels as this fixes all acpi related problems, but it does bring its own set of problems :)
