Looking for a PA-RISC or Itanium workstation

Hi there folks,

I'm looking for a cheap (64-bit) PA-RISC or Itanium workstation for personal (lab) testing use so I can install and test OVO 8.x for instance.

Can anyone advice me on this where and what to buy?

Thanx in advance.

Re: Looking for a PA-RISC or Itanium workstation

If you want something that will run the latest version of HP-UX (11.23 or 11.31) then a workstation of any variety will NOT work.

I would look for a very low end server. The lowest end new PA-RISC server is an rp3410. The lowest end Integrity server is an rx1620.

If you don't care about support -- You might look for an rp24xx machine. That will support 11.23, but I'm not sure about 11.31.

Good luck.

I have a refurbished rx2620 (with the battle star galatica looking stand).

It works great as a work station.

Talk to you local HP rep or reseller.

Thanx. Just thought a workstation would be cheaper, but a server is ok too.

I'm not sure wheher to use a PA-RISC or Itanium machine for testing OVO and NNM software for HP-UX. What do you advice me.

I would be tempted to go Itanium as that is the way of the future.
