Multipathing Software
We have rx8640 Server running RHEL 4.0 Update 6 , connected to EVA 6100. We dont have multipathing configured on OS and getting similar errors like below.
vgdisplay -v
vgdisplay : Found duplicate PV : using /dev/sda not /dev/sda
we have 6 vdisks presented from EVA 6100 (connected through 2 SAN switches) so we have 3 alternate paths for each Vdisks.
I am a HP-UX engineer and in that alternate paths are taken care by pv links. please suggest how to configure multipathing in Linux.

Re: Multipathing Software
You need to install HP DM:
http://www.hp.com/go/devicemapper/
Instructions on configuration can be found in Red Hat's manuals on dm-multipath.

Re: Multipathing Software
Built in multi pathing should be sufficient. It is easy to configure and dos not require a lot of Linux skills.
