net snmp and solarwinds on HP-UX 11i v2

Hi
I install net-snmp on my HP rx2620 from free tools of HP-UX 11i v2 package and after configure snmpd.conf and up the net-snmp I can just monitor CPU and Memory and Lans by solarwinds orion v8 and v7.8.
on net-snmp site explain about how to configure snmpd.conf by adding disk on it to monitor the disk and I did it but I can't monitor it.
THE SNMPD.CONF
###########################################################################
#
# snmpd.conf
#
# - created by the snmpconf configuration program
#
###########################################################################
# SECTION: Access Control Setup
#
# This section defines who is allowed to talk to your running
# snmp agent.

# rwcommunity: a SNMPv1/SNMPv2c read-write access community name
# arguments: community [default|hostname|network/bits] [oid]

rwcommunity kishware

###########################################################################
# SECTION: Monitor Various Aspects of the Running Host
#
# The following check up on various aspects of a host.

# disk: Check for disk space usage of a partition.
# The agent can check the amount of available disk space, and make
# sure it is above a set limit.
#
# disk PATH [MIN=100000]
#
# PATH: mount path to the disk in question.
# MIN: Disks with space below this value will have the Mib's errorFlag set.
# Can be a raw byte value or a percentage followed by the %
# symbol. Default value = 100000.
#
# The results are reported in the dskTable section of the UCD-SNMP-MIB tree

disk / 10000

My question is how should configure the snmpd.conf to monitor disks by solarwinds?
should I compile any mib?how can I compile mibs?

thanks anyway.

Re: net snmp and solarwinds on HP-UX 11i v2

I have the same problem!
Can someone respond us please?

I wanted to know if it depended from Solarwinds or from the configuration of the snmp on Hp-ux.

Thanks in advance.

Re: net snmp and solarwinds on HP-UX 11i v2

I am assuming that you have properly setup net-snmp. The OID you want to query for disk is .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.9.1.7.1

if you had multiple disks being monitored you would change the 1 to a 2 and so on. So the next disk would be .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.9.1.7.2.

I don;t use solarwinds, but I assume that it will allow you to qury those OID's. Here is a page you might be interested in:

http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/docs/mibs/ucdavis.html

It mentions the objects for UCD-SNMP-MIB.
"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"

Re: net snmp and solarwinds on HP-UX 11i v2

Opening the thread back after years.

I experience the same issue on my hpux server. I have installed net-snmp and can i have the configuration file syntax so that the MIB's are fetched by solarwinds moniotoring tool via snmp?

Any thoughts is appreciated.

Thanks.
