nic card compatibility?

I am trying to find out if this nic is 1) compatible for HPUX and 2) if it is compatible with 11.00 as well as 11.11.

It does mention linux and solaris in the description, but not HPUX explicitly. I believe it should work on HPUX, but Im not sure about 11.00 version.

IMHO unlikely, because the driver won't know this card.

Partsurfer shows the part so that makes me believe that it should work, but I can't find any particular reference to OS support.

I found a description that shows UNIX as a supported platform.

This card wasnt on that compatibility matrix. So, I am not sure if it is compatible with 11.00.

I will have to dig deeper.... unless yall know of anywhere else to look.

Here's the quickspec for that card.

No mention of HP9000 or HP Integrity servers.

So not supported I'm afraid. Its basically a card supported in Proliant Servers.

IIRC the only 1000BaseT driver in 11.00 was gelan on the SW bundle GigEther-00. According to the support matrix here:

The only GbE copper PCI card which isn't core IO there is A4929A - you will of course have to find a 2nd user one of those, as they are off CPL.

This is what happens when you use unsupported OS versions (11.00 has been off support for a while now).

Update: I did find a 5230 card that is compatible for my needs. I just need to find someone who carries it since it is an antiquated card.

Regarding the 11.00 situation, I have one box that is at that level. I am planning on getting it upgraded, but it isnt a high priority at the moment.

I'd consider HP Renew as your first option - adavantage here is that the cards come with complete warranties and are treated 'like new' from a support perspective.

Many 3rd party second-user brokers will only give you a 30-day warranty on the kit - which usually means you need to buy a spare as well.

Looks like HP Renew have the A5230A in stock amongst others that might be suitable:

You do know that the 5230 is just a 100BaseT card, not GbE?
