Re: Omniback II 3.10 & GNU/Linux Slackware 7
I hate to say this, but I don't think that you have an Omniback issue. I'm sure that your error messages are pointing to a DNS issue.
Please verify that DNS is functionally the same on all of your boxes.
Perform the following:
1. named -v (as root) <- Check the version of named on all of th platforms
2. examine the /etc/resolv.conf <- Is it similar to the other Linux Boxes?
3. Check the configuration of /etc/nsswitch.conf <- is it simialr on all platforms?
All of your errors indicate a failure to 'gethostbyname'
I suspect that there is a problem in the /etc/resolv.conf nad the versions of named.
Good Luck.

Re: Omniback II 3.10 & GNU/Linux Slackware 7
Hello,
I have heard about problems with some linux name resolvers (provided with glibc) and OmniBack II 3.10.
I'm not sure that a patch is provided for slackware, but as it depends on glibc, you may decide (at your own risk :-) to upgrade or downgrade it.
Good luck.
Kodjo
