problems with EVA4100 y multipath i see each device 4 times

I'm installing a RHEL 4.6 server with an Emulex A8003A. I install the PSP 8.26. The multipathing doesn't work, I see each device four time ! It's doesn't work like QLogic FC card, this is with an EVA4100
i have the following software installed:
-HPDMultipath-4.3.0
-hp-lpfc-8.0.16.40_p2-1

this are some of the screens:

# ls /dev|grep sd
# multipath -l
# cat/proc/scsi/scsi|less
ksh: cat/proc/scsi/scsi: not found

# cat /proc/scsi/scsi | less

With DM Multipath it's normal, your "multipath aware" device is mpath11 as displayed in the output of multipath -ll, and this device has 4 paths (sda, sdb, sdc, sdd).

And yes, it does not works as the Qlogic failover driver, but it works.

Re: problems with EVA4100 y multipath i see each device 4 times

Thanks Ivan;

but im confused, this device has 4 paths (sda, sdb, sdc, sdd)like you said to me, but there is no way to see this device only by 1 path, because is the same disk seen 4 times by the four channels of the 2 controllers

In your multipath -ll output, you can see the mpath device with corresponding device ID and the physical paths (sda,sdb,....) involved.

lssd also shows all the physical paths.
I dont know about a command which shows only the LUN.

Check your mpath devices by
#ll /dev/mpath

Your device will be /dev/mapper/mpath11. You will perform the operations over this device and you will not use sd*.

Shalom,

There really are four paths.

You use the path Ivan specified because that will work if any of the 4 actual paths are up.

Server has two hba cards.
Fiber network has two channels.

Four paths.

You want to see them in case you have troubles and need to diagnose.
