PSP 7.3 still causes system freeze RHEL 3.0
With RHEL and PSP 7.1, I had random freezes and crashes when PSP was on. When I turned it off, all was well.
So, I upgraded to RHEL AS 3.0 recently and decided to give PSP 7.3 a try.
This time around, the box went nuts and I was unable to log in via ssh or console.
I was able to issue the 3 finger salute to get it to reboot, but that was it.
After disabling PSP, things seem fine.
This box runs oracle, and perl. It is a ML570 G2 quad, and nothign really special about it.
Anyone else seen this weird behaviour?

Unf.. About the only intelligent things I can ask are these:
Which update of RHAS3 are you using?
Does it have all of the recent eratta loaded?

One long-haired git at your service...

Re: PSP 7.3 still causes system freeze RHEL 3.0
If RHEL AS 3.0 has this problem with PSP 7.3 I see the following alternatives:
1) Use an earlier, later or otherwise more stable PSP release.
2) Stop using PSP
3) Use RHEL AS 4.0, it might, with its new kernel be resistant to this problem.
