SAN BOOT QUESTION

I have an l2000-44 server running HPUX 11.0 with A5158A fiber cards. I configured luns on a san to serve as boot disk. I used setboot to "point" the server to the luns. The L2000 server wouldnt initialize using the san-based os disks. Will the L2000-44 support san booting?

Re: SAN BOOT QUESTION

The card does, as long as the array does and the PDC version is minimum 44.01.

Hope this helps!

Re: SAN BOOT QUESTION

How do display the PDC version without booting the server? Under the "home screen" of Support Tools Manager, I see "Version A.44.00". Would that be the PDC version?

Re: SAN BOOT QUESTION

Use cstm to get the details about CPU and grep for

PDC Firmware Revision, e.g.

PDC Firmware Revision: 44.28

==>

# echo "selclass qualifier cpu;info;wait;il"|/usr/sbin/cstm

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
