SCSI Gross Error on rp7410

We had a disk go bad in our HP2300 and replaced it. Now it's giving a SCSI Gross Error so HP advised me to replace the SCSI card which I did. We are still getting the same errors after the SCSI card replacement. Any ideas?

Re: SCSI Gross Error on rp7410

Shalom,

HP hardware should really come out, do a complete diagnosis and keep replacing hardware until this problem goes away.

If its not the card, it may be the system bus, requiring a mother/system board replacement. Cables are cheap and should be replaced before that step.

Re: SCSI Gross Error on rp7410

keep it simple. If you replaced a disk and the scsi resets began after introducing a new disk, does the issue stop if you remove that disk? If so, you probably installed a bad disk. If not, then focus on the scsi cable, terminator and ds2300 chassis before going the route of the rp7410 h/w. I would've replaced a cable or terminator before getting to the scsi hba.

Hope this helps,

Re: SCSI Gross Error on rp7410

Hi,

Try the terminator, I've got similar case with the culprit is the terminator.

Sandy
