SLES9 with QLogic failover driver - only one WWPN in MSA SSP
I got two SLES9 servers (BL20p G3) attached to a dual fabric SAN. Each server got two paths to an MSA1500 (Active/Passive). I used the QLoglic failover driver that is delivered with the PSP 7.40. The configuration works fine, but I saw only one WWPN in the SSP, so the LUNs are also presented to only that one WWPN. The point that I didn't understand: The failover works.... any hints regarding this phenomenon?
Regards,
Patrick

Re: SLES9 with QLogic failover driver - only one WWPN in MSA SSP
Bad quality assurance on the software most likely. I've run into the oppposite situation, which is the system says it has two adapters and failover completely locks the system.
Your situation is better I think.
File a bug report with HP so they at least realize what they've done.
I suppose this is possibly some kind of strange clustering scheme but doubt it.

thanks for you reply. The configuration works, so we don't have to fix it. It would be interesting if other customers have the same bahavior.

Re: SLES9 with QLogic failover driver - only one WWPN in MSA SSP
I think that I found a solution in this thread:

Take a look at the posting of Stephen Kebbell. This could be a solution and it sounds pretty logic to me.
