Suse 8.1 on HP Pavillion

I have successfuly (so I think:-) installed linux (Suse 8.1) on my hp pavillion ze4125. No problems, had to boot with NOPCMCIA option on to skip that detection. Everything seems fine until it gets to the point of new hardware detection. It says detecting new hardware.... and that's where it freezes.

I wonder if someone has experienced a similar problem and how it can be resolved.

Try adding nomce to your boot parameters. That will probably fix the problem.
