Syslogd stops Automatically

I've got a Rx6600 box running 11.23, its an application server. The syslogd daemon stops automatically. Then i have to restart it manually.I dont see anything in the syslog, it just stops.

Hi,

Did you check any error in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file

Hi

If nothing is being written to syslog then refer to /usr/newconfig/etc/syslog.conf. You've probably got a control char. in you current copy.

Re: Syslogd stops Automatically

Did someone edit /etc/syslog.conf recently? There must be *NO* spaces on any line. A space turns the line into a comment. Use the command:

cat -tv /etc/syslog.conf

There must be ^I (tab) characters where normally see white space.

Re: Syslogd stops Automatically

Hi

Check if /var is at 100% or if in any moment it was at 100% of its capacity.
