Re: system startup files

Maybe /etc/profile and ~/.profile? It depends on your environment, your shell, and possibly many other factors as well.

Re: system startup files

Hello,

system startup files are in /sbin/init.d, runlevels starting links are in /etc/rc?.d/ directory.

system configuuration startup files are in /etc/rc.config.d.

you could look at man hier(5) for more informations on the hierarchy in HP-UX systems.

Look here to see how programs start when you boot your server. http://docs.hp.com/en/934/startup.pdf

Use the profile-files mentioned above to set up the environment for users.
