3PAR 7400 cli setup

Hello,
need help please.

Unfortunatelly we don't have a possibility to deploy a GUI management software so we try to use cli.

Main question is how to allocate physical disk space to free space?
I tried servicemag, admithw, admitpd commands but freespace (#showspace) is equal 0

I try to read cli manual, but I'm newbie in storage and don't find any answers on this situation.
I will be glad if someone point me in right direction.
Best regards.

Re: 3PAR 7400 cli setup

Create virtual volume (VV) on CPG and export VV to your host(s).

Re: 3PAR 7400 cli setup

I can't create CPG therefore can't create VV and export on host.

Main question is how to add disk space to "allocted" space.
#showspace is showing 0

I think, i need any other numbers in #showspace results and then I will have possibility to create CPG

Re: 3PAR 7400 cli setup

If you've added disks recently, and you issued admitpd, it might take a while until all chunklets are initialized. The command showpd -c will show you the Free/Initialized chunklets. See example below:

3par cli% showpd -c
--------- Normal Chunklets --------- ---- Spare Chunklets -----
- Used -- --------- Unused --------- - Used - ---- Unused -----
Id CagePos Type State Total OK Fail Free Uninit Unavail Fail OK Fail Free Uninit Fail
0 0:0:0 SSD normal 3575 20 0 3305 0 0 0 0 0 250 0 0
1 0:1:0 SSD normal 3575 22 0 3303 0 0 0 0 0 250 0 0
2 0:2:0 SSD normal 3575 20 0 3305 0 0 0 0 0 250 0 0

Once the chunklets have been initialized, you will be able to create VVols and export them.
