Hello experts, I have a customer with a 2-node 8400 3par running on version 3.2.2.709 (MU6), and he finally agreed to let me upgrade it to the latest version. Customer's network blocked any internet connection, so there are no STATS nor InfoSight. If I'm not mistaking, the latest firmware version for this model is 3.3.1 MU5 + some patches that I don't accurately know, P126, P132, P135, P140, P146, P150, P151, P155, P156, P170, P172, P173, P175, P177, P180
So I'd like to know the upgrade path, any mandatory hops and the actual patches once is on 3.3.3 MU5.
Thanks and best regards.

SolutionHi feigenL,
Upgrading the HPE 3PAR 8400 storage system to the latest firmware version requires following a specific upgrade path and applying mandatory hops to ensure a successful and stable upgrade.
Since you are currently on version 3.2.2.709 (MU6), here is the recommended upgrade path to reach the latest version along with the mandatory hops:
1. First, you need to upgrade to version 3.3.1 MU1. This is a mandatory hop before moving to higher versions.
2. After upgrading to 3.3.1 MU1, proceed with upgrading to version 3.3.1 MU4. This is another mandatory hop in the upgrade path.
3. Continue upgrading to version 3.3.1 MU5.
Please refer to the below URLs for HPE 3PAR OS release notes.
https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00110419en_us
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00043325en_us&docLocale=en_US
Before proceeding with the upgrade, it is important to review the upgrade documentation, release notes, and best practices provided by HPE.
Additionally, consider taking backups and ensuring you have a comprehensive rollback plan in case any issues arise during the upgrade process.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Satish
