Hi,
I have a couple of questions.
I have an infrastructure composed of a 3PAR 7200 with 8 BL460c Gen8.
The operating system is vSphere 5.1.
I want to implement best pratices.
I Looking in the various documents hp (HP 3PAR Storage and VMware vSphere 5 StoreServ best practices and HP 3PAR VMware ESX / ESXi Implementation
Guide) and the internet (http://arritdor.e-wilkin.com/2012/05/vmware-esxi-and-hp-3par-storage.html) I have found the following tips:
ESXi Advanced Settings:
DiskMaxIOSize = 128
QFullSampleSize = 32
QFullThreshold = 4
Default Path Selection Policy (PSP) = VM_PSP_RR (Source and Powershell Tip)
IOPS = 1
These Best Practices are correct?
thanks
regards

Re: 3Par Best practices with vsphere
Hi,
For ESX best practices with 3PAR solution you can refer to the tech white paper below:

Re: 3Par Best practices with vsphere
Thanks for your response.
I have already read that document.
On page 31 and 32 explains how to implement adaptive queue depth throttling but I can not figure out if it's better to do it.
In the HP 3PAR VMware ESX / ESXi Implementation ( http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03290624 ) on page 47 of this document:
This feature Should be enabled as part of an ESX - HP 3PAR Storage StoreServ deployment.
So I guess it's better to enable this feature. Correct?
thanks

SolutionHi,
This Feature usually depends on type of IOPS , No. of VM's on a single data store. Quedepth is usually recomended on VMFS data store. Its based on your environment considering te above factors.
